Every family meets with Guidance every year. Every student graduates with a track chosen on purpose.

Three diploma tracks

All three require 24 credits, 2 Bible credits, and real community service. The difference is where they aim.

College Preparatory

3.0 GPA · 100 service hours

  • ●24+ credits with 4 English and 4 math (Algebra I and higher)
  • ●2 lab sciences (Biology, Chemistry) and 2 sequential foreign language credits
  • ●At least one honors-or-higher course and one virtual class
  • ●Qualifying SAT 940+, ACT 20+, CLT 70+, or PERT scores

Standard

2.0 GPA · 75 service hours

  • ●24 credits with 4 English and 4 math (through Algebra 2)
  • ●Biology lab science plus 3 social studies credits
  • ●C or better in core courses and one virtual class
  • ●Qualifying SAT 880+, ACT 18+, or CLT 63+

Career Path

2.0 GPA · 75 service hours

  • ●24 credits including 1 to 8 credits of on-the-job training
  • ●Practical arts emphasis (1 to 3 credits)
  • ●Tests required with no minimum score
  • ●Built for students headed straight into work or trades

Guidance that actually guides

Parents and students meet with the Guidance Department every year to plan and confirm course choices, by phone, in person, or over Zoom.

Led by Liz Darnell, Headmaster and Guidance Counselor, with grade-by-grade "Preparing for Graduation" plans from freshman year on.

Community service with a purpose

Community service starts counting the first day of 9th grade: 75 hours for Standard and Career Path, 100 for College Prep. Up to a third can be served at your home church, and seniors submit completion packets in December to walk in May.

Testing, demystified

  • ●Three college entrance options: SAT, ACT, and CLT (now accepted at Florida colleges)
  • ●TRA CEEB code 102-330 for the SAT; Bright Futures ACT code 0095
  • ●On-campus testing for 3rd through 11th grade every May
  • ●Bright Futures takes your highest reading and highest math scores across test dates

College credit before graduation

TRA is contracted with Seminole State College, and because SSC serves Seminole County high schools, TRA students qualify regardless of where they live. Offered to approved juniors and seniors, generally up to 3 classes per semester. Guidance walks every family through the application, the PERT exam, and a recommended first-semester load.
