MS Pre-Algebra

Middle SchoolMathMr. Hoffman

This course is designed for middle school students, but may be taken as Algebra IA in a 2-year Algebra I course. Pre-Algebra students will study the foundational skills of Algebra including equations, multi-step word problems, geometry basics, and graphing.

Students will be required to have their homework graded at home, so the Solutions Manual is necessary. TRA will provide all tests and assessments; you will not need the HS Test packet.

Curriculum: Saxon Math Algebra 1/2 (Pre-Algebra), 3rd Edition, plus the Solutions Manual. You may purchase the entire Home School Kit (textbook, solutions manual, and tests) if you find a good deal, but TRA will provide tests. CD-ROM tutorials are also available but not required. Calculators are not permitted.

Upper school classes meet in two-hour blocks Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Core high school courses can be taken at the honors level with administration approval. Questions about placement? Call (407) 688-2445 or ask Guidance.
